Artist Statement: I am fascinated by nostalgia, memory, and documentation – particularly that of the seemingly mundane moments that often pass by unnoticed. It is in these that life’s greatest meaning and beauty can be found, and my work seeks to memorialize them as an act of gratitude and recognition. 

 

I utilize a loose, painterly technique to translate the deep nostalgia associated with these moments while referencing the transience and abstraction of memory. The paintings in this collection will continue to accumulate as the individual accumulates memories. We are formed by the layers of time, and I seek not only to recognize the moment in this body of work but to also recognize the evolution of a person.
